Description

Cells in goblet shaped lorica form branched colonies. Each cell have one chloroplast with an eyespot, and two flagella, one long anterior and one short. Species are charcterized by the shape of the lorica and the resting spore (stomatocyst). Mixotrophic. May form blooms.

Length of lorica 32-66 µm, width 3-5 µm
